The Congregation of the Holy Spirit is a Catholic religious congregation founded in France in 1703. Also known as the Spiritans, our mission for over 300 years has been to evangelize the poor and marginalized all over the world. The Spiritans first arrived in Tanzania in 1863, marking the beginning of their missionary presence in East Africa. Since then, they have been actively involved in pastoral ministry, education, healthcare, and social development across the country. Today, the Spiritan Province of Tanzania continues this legacy, serving communities with dedication and faith.
